The Swiss Society for the Common Good (SSCG), to which Pro Futuris belongs, is aligning its work more closely with its new strategic framework. This brings together the topics of “social cohesion”, “active civil society” and “vibrant democratic culture” and describes how the SSCG functions with its modes of action: Developing pilot projects, bringing stakeholders together, supporting third parties and analysing and classifying social developments.
Pro Futuris was founded in 2022 as a think + do tank of the SSCG with the aim of strengthening democratic culture with analyses and targeted projects. By taking this step, the SSCG cultivated its working methods at an early stage, taking a direction that is now set out in the strategic framework. The experience gained from the founding and development of Pro Futuris has shown that methodological work through pilot phases, evaluations and model developments can have an impact within the entire SSCG.
The SSCG has therefore decided to retain Pro Futuris within the organisation on a permanent basis. The basis for this is that the programme fits well with the SSCG strategy. Pro Futuris works primarily in the area of “vibrant democratic culture” and develops projects in line with a clear impact logic. The think + do tank analyses social developments, brings relevant stakeholders together and develops pilot projects. It tests their impact and continues with them if they are successful. In doing so, it helps to promote issues that are central to the joint strengthening of a resilient and sustainable democracy. This way of working has already contributed a great deal to the further development of the SSCG in terms of content and organisation and is expected to have an even stronger impact on the overall strategy in the future.
The ongoing projects will be continued without any changes being made. This also applies to the formats that Pro Futuris has developed together with its partners. Pro Futuris remains visible as an SSCG brand and is integrated even more strongly in the overall communication.
